
The scenic patio at the U.S. Consulate's home in Durban North, where we enjoyed a Fourth of July barbecue. What you can't see from this picture is the expansive view of the ocean that sloped behind the group.

The majority of Duke Engagers enjoyed a little "Ayoba Time," dancing on stage before the World Cup game. Ayoba is a word the South Africans created for the World Cup that means "the time is now." They don't say soccer's traditional "ole," but rather "ayoba."

The walk into Moses Mabhida Stadium. You can see a few members of our group proudly sporting the jersey of South Africa's Bafana Bafana, which were given to us by our homestays.

The picturesque Durban pier, in the heart of Durban proper. The locals call the area the Golden Mile. To the right and the left there were huge swells and an impressive number of people surfing. We also experienced our first touch in the Indian Ocean.
